About this dashboard
Use the yellow controls to select states, spending measures, districts, and staff categories. The funding chart offers reported and inflation-adjusted amounts; staffing charts show each job category as a share of total staff. The views cover different reporting periods, so check each chart’s title before comparing.
Data and source notes
The dashboard’s About panel identifies the NCES Elementary/Secondary Information System (ELSi) table generator. When reviewed, the funding view covered 1998–99 through 2021–22 and adjusted amounts to FY22 dollars using the Consumer Price Index. Staffing views extended through 2024–25. Refer to the live chart labels for current coverage.
